Instagram has been updated for Apple’s iOS 7, bringing a new redesigned look of the app with a “focus on clarity.”

Instagram hasn’t given its app a total revamp, but has made some significant improvements, adding more size of photos and videos so that they expand to the edges of your screen. For the iPhone owners, it is a 4.5 percent increase in size. That also means, that the app has increased resolution.

In addition, the app’s buttons were flattened and menu bars trimmed of borders.

Instagram 4.2, is now available in the App Store. To go well with the seventh iteration of Apple’s mobile OS, the developers made profile pictures circular and its pages whiter.

“We put the community—and the photos and videos you share—first. To bring you the best experience possible, we have always valued beauty and simplicity in our app. With the introduction of iOS 7 and its emphasis on clarity, we were excited to rebuild the look and feel of Instagram in a way that would bring these principles together and let the moments this community captures and shares shine.”

As designer Maykel Loomans noted, “Instagram has always been a content-first platform, and Apple threw an OS in our lap that allowed us to make that really happen.” The developers tried to provide Instagram users with clean, simple and grounded in the photos and videos app.

With the update, Instagram is expected to feel more at home on your iOS 7 device. Notably, aside from a changed look, the app’s functionality and its icon remains the same.
